How to fix Google Pay Error U13: Google pay has changed the game of transferring money. Gone are those days when you had to stand for hours in a long queue just to send few bucks to your relatives. Gone are those days when you had to listen to bank’s senseless excuses. Now it just takes few clicks and few seconds to transfer money from your bank account to the other. If this fact alone does not fascinates you, then you would be amazed to know that you may get money in your bank account too from Google Pay. Yes, you heard me right. Whenever you transfer more than 150 bucks from your bank account, you earn a scratch card which may give you upto 1000 bucks. Also, if you send more than 500, you will earn a lucky scratch card that may give you 1,00,000 bucks (though this is extremely rare).

What is Google Pay Error U13?

Creating an account on Google Pay is extremely easy. It hardly takes 3-4 minutes to set up a Google Pay account. Though this is very smooth, few users have reported facing an issue while setting up a Google Pay account. While one of my friend was trying to add an account on Google Pay, he got an error message that read:

Something went wrong at the bank’s servers. Please retry. (U13)

This comes with a small retry option at the bottom but this doesn’t really help much. If you search for this error on web, you won’t find much. However, I decided to try my hands on it and fortunately I was able to succeed. Since there is not much information about this specific error code on web, I decided to write an article so that it can be beneficial for other users too. Now enough has been said and this is the time for some action. So, let us get started and see how we can fix Google Pay Error U13.

In this section, you will get all you need to get rid of Google Pay Error U13. Please make sure you follow these steps carefully. Also, please do not share sensitive information like your bank account’s ATM pin, UPI pin etc. Now, let us get started.

Method 1: Reset your UPI Pin

This was the method that worked for me. So, I am sharing this at first place. Please follow the steps given below to reset your UPI Pin. Please note that you will need your Debit card’s last 6 digit and its PIN. Let me warn you again: DO NOT share your ATM Pin and UPI pin with any other.

  • Launch Google Pay app on your device.
  • While adding an account, it may ask you to enter UPI pin. Here, instead of adding an existing UPI pin, tap on Forgot UPI Pin option.

  1. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!! Step 1 worked. 🙂
I have been struggling to solve this by contacting Google help and bank for the past 2 days. But just in few seconds, everything is solved. Thank you once again for the step wise detailed instructions. :)))))))

  2. Thank you this is really helpful, the first step worked for me.

I was facing this problem after changing my mobile number, it was almost 30 days I faced this issue. i have tried all possible actions, contacted both bank and google pay support teams but none of them have resolved the issue.

    Thank you once again.

  3. Nothing to do with Step 1, 2 or 3. This is because Bank servers don’t respond the request or some exception occurred at bank end, then UPI considered as External Error (U13). It may be due to network fluctuation as well. If you retry it may work. No need to setting UPI PIN again or Uninstall and Install not required.
Best option is retry again after sometime. Because, UPI systems are continuously monitoring by teams, resolved the issues when reported.
